The earlier rehabilitationmethods for common horse-swimmingpool are now used only rarely in its classical form. It turned out that individual horses after training in the pool had became outrageous muscular and cardiovascular fitness. Their tendons, ligaments and joints, were not exposed to stress stimuli, and thus not trained.

For this reason, the horses water cure, a synonymous for PeWa Kur was developed. It is an underwater treadmill whose depth can be variably adjusted.

The horse runs in the system, with upstream, against the resistance of the water. In low water levels the tendons, ligaments and joints are trained in almost normal load to work the muscles of the forward movement. The horses run with more action, it trains the movement in many joints and back muscles. In this connection the PeWa Kur system is also ideal to treat blockages of the back and resulting lameness.

Also horses which have too much urge to move, can be controlled to reduce their urge with only little pollution in the PeWa Kur system at their fully expense.
By raising the water level to a higher level to use the upswim effect, particular injured horses can carefully trained to return from injuries to the anterior limbs.
